VISIT TO MEDIUM SECURITY CUSTODIAL CENTRE, KUJE
We (Ozoza Initiative) had the honor of visiting the Medium Security Custodial Centre in Kuje, Abuja as part of our continued commitment to supporting those in vulnerable situations. Our visit aimed not only to provide material support but also to uplift the spirits of the inmates, reminding them that they are not forgotten, and that they still have value and purpose in their lives. During our time at the facility, we engaged with the inmates through meaningful conversations, offering words of encouragement and hope. We shared prayers to help strengthen their faith, reminding them that no matter the circumstances, they are never alone in their struggles. Our team took the time to listen to their personal stories, offering empathy and emotional support, which we believe plays a vital role in their rehabilitation and mental well-being. In addition to offering emotional and spiritual support, we also provided provisions to supplement the daily needs of the prisoners. These provisions, which included essential food items and hygiene supplies, were meant to ease some of the difficulties they face in their daily lives. It was our intention to not only address their immediate needs but also offer a sense of care, compassion, and solidarity. At Ozoza Initiative, we believe that empowerment comes in many forms, and this visit was a reminder that the path to rehabilitation and reintegration into society is not just about physical needs, but emotional and spiritual healing as well. Our outreach was a step toward restoring hope and reinforcing the message that everyone, regardless of their past or current situation, deserves to feel valued and supported. We remain committed to continuing our support for those in correctional facilities, offering encouragement and resources that can help them transform their lives and reintegrate into society as strong, positive individuals.
